Charmaine Benjamin-Werth has a knack for designing spaces that exude elegance and innovation, and are in perfect harmony with the rhythms of the region. “In my head I could see exactly what I wanted but I needed help making it happen,” Nadia explains. Charmaine’s expertise identifying fixtures and furnishings, and a colour palette that complemented the natural environment without overwhelming it by clamouring for attention, was invaluable. The entire two-bedroom property was repainted in subtle organic tones to meld into the waterfront setting. The bathrooms and kitchen all received an upgrade, including new countertops and mirrors. “We put in new door handles and light switches too - fundamental things that you don’t even think about but that need to be perfect for a rental and look new,” Nadia continues. “We removed everything in the kitchen cupboards and replaced it all because people expect everything to match. In a

family home, that’s not always the case so a lot of stuff had to be binned.” Piggotts-based homestore Gigi was the go-to spot for an entire slate of new furniture, plus bathroom and kitchen fittings. “They made it so easy by delivering everything and setting it all up,” Nadia says. Antigua-based L. Ffrench’s Construction was tasked with carrying out the technical work. The villa’s sunny harbour-facing deck was also included in the transformation, outfitted with new loungers, plants to add a tropical feel, and spruced up dining and relaxation areas, complete with curtains to provide extra shade. “We just had our first rental so the revamp is already paying for itself. The guests absolutely loved it,” Nadia says. “The master suite has a super-king-size bed and an additional pullout sofa bed for kids. The second bedroom has a treadmill so you can work out in comfort. Both bedrooms have ensuites and there’s an additional guest washroom downstairs.”
