Crypto entrepreneur. Global investor. Longtime Antiguan resident. Calvin Ayre isn’t just bringing a brand-new Nikki Beach resort to Jolly Harbour, he’s building what he believes will be one of the Caribbean’s most exciting new destinations.

In an exclusive interview with Luxury Locations Magazine, Ayre shares his passion for Antigua, why he’s backing the island’s future with major investment, and what makes this upcoming resort more than just a place to stay.

The Calvin Ayre Foundation began in the mid-2000s as a way for Calvin to share a little of his good fortune with those who might not have been as fortunate. The Foundation focuses on a few key areas, including social development and education, while also providing emergency response measures when required.

Slated to open in 2028, the Nikki Beach Antigua resort will feature 181 branded residences, a waterfront Beach Club, spa, multiple pools, and even superyacht access. More than just luxury, Ayre’s vision includes creating 300 permanent local jobs and a space that celebrates, not replaces, the island’s natural beauty and charm.

He acknowledges that a project of this scale is by definition disruptive but hopes that they can proceed with as light a footprint as possible. He is not just an investor, he lives here, so the last thing he wants to do is earn the ire of his fellow Antiguans.
